It all started when…

Artist Ronni Robinson to Debut New Collection at

New Hope’s LAA Art Collective

Ronni Nicole Robinson of Ron Nicole will be debuting her latest collection, Wall Candy, on October 7th at LAA Art Collective. The opening will be held at the gallery’s new studio, 15 West Ferry Street in New Hope from 2:00 p.m. until 6 p.m. The collection will be available for sale through LAA Art Collective on a first-come, first served basis at the opening and online beginning October 8th. Wall Candy will remain on view until October 28.

Wall Candy is a collection of 100 handmade floral plaster reliefs created from spring and summer flowers including dogwood, orchid, rose, zinnia, lavender, begonia, azalea and more. All of the flowers were grown by Robinson and her husband and business partner, David Robinson, or gathered from the New Hope/Lambertville area. Each of the round plaster reliefs is complemented by a frame Robinson crafted by hand.

Robinson’s handmade plaster and paper floral reliefs have gained popularity since her humble beginnings from a spare bedroom in her Philadelphia apartment nearly a decade ago. Her work has been featured in a number of publications, including Vogue, Martha Stewart Living, and Architectural Digest. After leaving the city for a farmhouse in Quakertown, the couple moved to their New Hope studio in 2021. Wall Candy is a tribute to her artistic journey and the learning experience that each new move brings. “Plaster is very finicky,” says Robinson. “I really needed to take the time to learn how this new studio’s environment would affect my work,” she explains.

She was also moved by the darkness of the last several years. “Covid had us cooped up for so long and things still felt dark when I started this collection. I really wanted to make something bright and give people a tiny glimpse of happiness.”
